Edelweiss Mountain Lodging Vacation Homes, Black Hills, SD
Edelweiss Mountain Lodging, in the Central Black Hills, South Dakota, is a most unique venue available to rent nice vacation homes and cabin style rentals, by the night, or a few days, for vacations; ministerial (pastoral) retreats; middle east veterans recouperation and rejuvenation and/or rebonding with family members; family reunions; and for staying in very comfortable homes that are accessable to all the year around outdoor sports and recreation activities in the Black Hills Region.
Marshall Mechaley, his Mom and Dad, Julie and Chuck, are recent new owners of Edelweiss Mountain Lodging. As a family, they are striving to carry on the many amenities of the former owners, especially the ministerial/pastoral retreats in the off season, plus respite for veterans. The Mechaley family deeply respects the needs pastors have for rest, rejuvenation, reflection, and refreshment from the special way they serve people in their religious congregations, hospitals, and teaching centers.
The view from the top of Edelweiss Mountain meadow is one of the most breath-taking views that guests who hike there, will always remember their whole lives.
On a clear day, there is a 360 degree vista of more than 20 miles distance, just standing in the meadow. Up about another 35 - 50 feet, a hike to the actual mountain top exalts the even greater panoramic views. Also, there are many more miles in the distance to see, of the 360 degree vista view, from the Seth Bullock Tower, a forest service lookout, which is even more amazing.
The Black Hills Today staff and Marshall Mechaley appreciated an interview with four beautiful women from East Germany, on the way down to the middle of the mountain, at Matterhorn Drive. These interesting East German women shared a bit about their three week vacation in the USA. Begining at Denver,Colorado Airport, then to South Dakota and Pine Ridge Reservation, the Badlands, Edelweiss Mountain Lodging, and surrounding Black Hills tourist destinations. They were then traveling to Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.
Edelweiss Mountain Lodging East German Travelers
The spokeswoman for the East German group, Casteen, from Bismark - Saxonia - East Germany, told us that they were four school girl friends growing up, who always wanted to visit the United States. Of coarse, just 20 years ago, it was not really possible for East Germans to visit in the USA. It was very apparent that the lifelong dream of these women, to travel to our USA, was emotionally moving them as they expressed the wonder of themselves actualizing their dream. We asked them if they had families and children. They shared that three of them had two children each, and one had one child.
Edelweiss Mountain Lodging North Dakota Vacationers
In this Video, you will also enjoy an interview with a very nice family from North Dakota. The children liked telling about their vacation and saying 'hi' to their friends. They spoke about the fun things to do while on vacation in the Central Black Hills, South Dakota. BlackHillsToday.com says a hearty 'Thank You,'to this family for this interview!
Of the surrounding tourist destinations and play areas for the Black Hills locals, there are scenes of Pactola Lake, the largest lake in western South Dakota, and an inspirational moment at a 'friendship tower' inspired by the Inuit Tribes of Canada. The tradition of beginning rock towers or expanding them up and out, for travelers who pass by, is a reminder that others have come before, and that no matter where we walk on this beautiful planet, 'one is never alone.'
